On Friday evening 7th February we attended our first event of 2025 which was the Glow Green Evening Walk on behalf of the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Over 1600 souls braved the bitter cold to walk an 8 km route round the famous Liverpool city centre, all dressed in bright green most carrying green light sticks, many of the public buildings being illuminated in green raising an amazing amount of money and awareness for the fantastic Clatterbridge Hospital which specialises is treatment of the dreaded cancer. The walking route passed both cathedrals (yes being Liverpool they have not one but two) and at the Roman Catholic version (Paddy's Wigwam) the steps up to the entrance were lined with burning candles and letters addressed to those no longer with us which is always very poignant. At other points on the route there was bands and choirs to entertain the brave walkers on their way whilst at the Event Village there was other entertainment including a shambala drum band. Our team was stationed at various points providing assurance and encouragement to the walkers and also first aid if necessary Fortunately that part of our services was not required as the event passed without incident. Glow Green Night Walk has this year so far raised £232,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, simply amazing. We’re now also beyond £750,000 over the four events and Liverpool One have supported us all the way with that and we are so grateful.
We will be back for Friday 6th February 2026 (please get it in the diary!), crazy to think that far ahead but we are looking forward to another great Glow Green Night Walk!
